konnyaku

Yesterday's dinner: miso soup with lots of stuff.
I know you might be wondering what is the grey stuff in the soup. It's konnyaku. As I'm not good at explaining it please look into wikipedia. It has funny texture and I've seen many people who tried first gets surprised here. It's nothing like anything... very chewy. If you like to have new adventure, please go for it.

  2. I brought it from Sakagura in my neighbourhoods in Japan. ;D
It can last for a year or two if you keep it in the freezer.
I saw your pots in Contemporary Ceramics. They look fabulous!
