polpo

Today we met a friend from Hong Kong. She lived in London for a while until 2 years ago and I got to know her here. She's now just visiting here for a week and going back tomorrow. She has a good sense of humour and a lovely smile and always encouraged me with funny talks.

Anyway we met up at Oxford Circus and went down to a restaurant: Polpo. Their food is good and I liked the atmosphere very much. They serve dishes like tapas (they seem to call it chicheti in Italian). We had 5 dishes including breads and wine. We felt a few dishes overcooked and a little unsalted but the impression overall was very good. The stuff were friendly and available although they were busy. I would love to come back if I have another occasion.

今日は香港から1週間だけ遊びに来ているKarenに会いました。日記を読んでくれている人には2年前までお馴染みの登場人物だったKarenです。

ともあれ、Oxford Circusで待ち合わせ（ところで、去年からOxford Circusは、渋谷のスクランブル交差点を参考にして、斜めに渡ることができるようになりました。私的には、もう少しだけ渡る時間を長くしてくれてもいいと思っています。）、Polpoというレストランに行きました。そこはタパス的に料理(イタリアではchicetiと呼ばれるそうです)をいっぱい出してくれるところで、私たちはパンを含め、5品注文しました。ちょっと火の通しすぎかな、、みたいな料理もありましたが、全体的にはおいしく、スタッフの人たちも気さくでよく動くので、とても気持ちのよい食事でした。お店の雰囲気もよくて、またセンターで食事をする機会があれば、行きたいなと思いました。
