five pee

I found a strange coin... I don't know where I got it but I found it in my wallet today. It is the one in the middle in the picture and I was going to use it as 10p but the back says 5 and 'new pence'. So I looked into internet to check what it is.

It is an old coin they used to use here. (You might not have seen it for a while... but it was my first time to see it.) The coin is made in 1975 and it is the year I was born (oops!). I decided to keep it as my lucky charm.

今日は財布の中に不思議なコインを見つけました。どこで受け取ったのかはわかりませんが、ほとんど10pの大きさのコインなのに5と書かれていました。

インターネットで調べてみると90年まで通用していた5ペンスだということがわかり、流通当初1968年には1シリングに相当する価値で出回ったそうです。（左端と右端が現在の10p、5pです。）

製造されたのは1975年、、、ご縁のある数字なので、五円ポケットに入れておきました。
