She's a really really lovely girl who is clever, sensitive and very funny. I've seen her since she was 6 months old. Time flies, but it has been really lovely to see her growing up to such a nice girl.
She has been working with me from time to time since she was 2 years old and now she knows a lot about ceramics: how to make moulds, how to smooth the surface and a lot of technical problems in making. It is great for me to know that I am a part of her childhood and had something I passed on to her and shared with her.
She always gives me some inspirations, ideas and smiles. Unfortunately she's leaving to Spain very soon... I will miss her A LOT.
She started making me a lovely plate using her own mould.
The next show is in The craft centre and the Design gallery in Leeds.
今日も妙子が遊びに来ました。妙子とは、私が今のスタジオに引っ越してからの付き合いで、彼女はその時母親の腕に抱かれた６ヶ月の赤ちゃんでした。母親の知子さんはその時すでに在英期間も長く、同じ日本語で会話ができることから、いろいろ話をしたりお世話になったりしていました。私もできる時には、妙子の面倒を見たりして、ご近所付き合いさせてもらっていますが、彼女の成長を間近でみるとても貴重な経験をさせてもらうことになりました。そんな妙子ももう8歳です。とても賢く、思いやりがあって、面白い子になりました。そして、私の仕事のかたわらで遊ぶので、粘土で作る事もたくさん覚えてくれました。
そして残念なことに、1週間後にスペインに引っ越してしまいます。どれだけ長期的なものになるのかわからないけれども、寂しくなりそうです。
今日は自分で作った型を使ってお皿作りを始めていました。

ReplyDeleteあらら、年明け早々に寂しくなっちゃうんだね…。妙子ちゃんはちっちゃい頃からミズヨちゃんの仕事を見てたから、妙子ちゃんも色々な刺激を受けていたんだろうね。子供は手作業大好きだし、みんな好きな授業は図工！って言う。 スペインはロンドンからも近いしさ、遊びに行っといで！私もスペイン行きたいな…。

ReplyDeleteそうなのよ。でも、本当は1ヶ月前には引っ越す予定だったから、長居してくれてありがとう！っていうぐらいなんだけれどもね、、、笑。
本当にちびっ子は作るの大好きだよね。この子たちに活力もらって続けられた部分もすごくあると思う。スペインはグラナダの近くの町に住むみたいよ。一緒に遊びに行こうよ！
