crystal lemon cucumber

I tried this cuke for the first time. It's one of the things I started noticing recently. This year they seem to be everywhere, so I gave it a go! Simple salad with kohlrabi, just sliced vegs with olive oil, lemon and wine vinegar. 

「食」への関心が高くなっているロンドンでは、食品のバリエーションも増えてきている。この野菜も最近目にするようになったものの一つで、キュウリの一種。見た目は丸くて、ホントにレモンのよう。種の部分が大きいけれども、身はしっかりしていて臭みが少ない。コルラビと一緒にサラダにしたら、日本のキュウリを思い出した。
ちなみに、こちらでよくあるキュウリは、日本のものの3、4倍くらいの大きさがあり、とても水っぽく、味も薄い。日本のものが恋しくなる野菜の一つ。
